This week we had a very interesting talk with David Bennett from OPX design, where he explained us a little bit more about the process of making the branding for Look mum no hands!, from the typography in the logo to the merchandising sold in the store.
My favourite part of the talk was when David told us how much they worked to get to a simple, visually creative looking logo. After trying out all these names for the café (rather serious ones, as the owners didn’t want anything funny), they finally reached the “Look mum no hands!” name. I personally really like the brand’s name, it’s playful and fresh, and it’s connected to the bike theme the café has.
To go straight to the point, this is how David describes design and branding:
“There is no such thing as a typical client”
