Today was celebration week day. Every year, level 4, 5 and 6 get together and prepare a presentation for both their peers and for “critics” (professionals from the industry). As levels 5 & 6 students, each visual communication studio had to present about their practises and briefs, development of their work and final outcomes, and pretty much share with others what their studio is all about.
This is a good opportunity for students to see what their fellow classmates and course mates are doing for their work. It was also particularly interesting to see what the 1st year students (level 4) have been doing so far.
Ben and Chris were the ones responsible for the presentation in behalf of our studio: they started by talking about what our studio believes in, or as we call it, our ethos. Then they moved on to explaining the briefs one by one and showing both development (sketchbooks, sketches, ideas…) and final outcomes for each one of those projects.
The presentation was lovely and well explained and the critics really enjoyed our work, even though they pointed out that it looked a bit “too serious” and that now is the time for us to have fun and create something out of enjoyment and not something that is market ready.
