This weekend (5th of March) the V&A hosted an exhibition with free workshops and talks about the work of modern art and design and what to expect from this industry. This exhibition was facing towards teenagers and young adults who are still studying and/or thinking of following a career in art and design.
There were several workshops, lectures, activities and portfolio advice. One talk that I found particularly interesting was of lecturer Jane Francis, who explained what makes an outstanding portfolio. Julia Dennis, founder of London Art Portfolio, explained us how to get an online presence for university and work and how to present your things when at a business meeting.
There were also talks about fashion, design and photography, as well as advice sessions with very helpful practitioners.
