This week we had Lakwena as a guest for March’s HOTHOUSE talk.
She showed us a portfolio of her work, including some from her previous years (from when she started getting paid and from when she was a student as well). Lakwena has been my favourite hothouse talk guest so far because not only her work was amazing, but she was also a lovely and very inspirational person.
This artist told us about her fears as an illustrator and graphic designer and showed us a range of work such as flyers, posters, wall painting and also work for a music festival. She also mentioned that we should accept whatever offer we get, even if we don’t know how to do it because that’s the fun of it: learning how to do something in the process.
