Last Friday we had a talk by Kirsty and Emma, the two founders of “A practice for everyday life”. Although young, these two practitioners have been working together for 15 years in their studio, showing that collaboration between friends (university colleagues) can work out and turn out to be the perfect start for a great business.
They talked through their work over the years, which was mainly based on curating exhibitions, but also typography and some editorial graphic design. It was interesting to see how they interacted with each other and how well they both knew the brand and their practices. One thing that caught my attention was that they seemed very excited to talk about the people they’ve worked with, taking time to explain us all their projects and how they work as inspirations.
